The purpose of the study: It consists in investigating the process of price formation in energy markets and using the methods applied in modern liberal markets to increase the efficiency of Azerbaijan's electricity export.

Significance of the application of the research - Application importance of the research - the growth dynamics of the demand for electricity in the global energy markets and the transformation of Azerbaijan into the most reliable energy partner for Europe make it necessary to increase the potential in this field and implement trade activities in accordance with the structure of modern markets. From this point of view, the topic is important for the effective operation of electricity markets in the coming years.
The results of the study - In addition to the structure of the markets to be operated during price forecasting in the energy markets, it was recommended to deeply investigate the current price levels of other energy sources in the markets.
Originality and scientific novelty of the research - The structure of modern libearl electricity markets was investigated and the main factors influencing the formation of prices were discussed. These key factors apply to any energy producing country.
