The article is dedicated to the current state and development trends of the new generation electric and hybrid engine car industry, which is gaining more interest and consumer sympathy in the world and in our country. As well as the positive aspects of electric cars, the numerous negative features of this type of vehicles are also analyzed and classified in the article. At the same time, article reflects the results of numerous foreign expert and scientist studies, which justify that electric cars, which are considered to be "environmental" means of transport of the modern era, are not so if certain conditions are not met. At the same time, in article reviewed the current situation and development prospects of the electric car sector in our country, solutions that would increase the development of this sector and the possibilities of using electric cars were presented in the form of comprehensive proposals.
