The importance, necessity, main features and advantages of digital transformation, which is the main requirement of modern times will be discussed in this article. The role of digital transformation in government activity is analyzed and examples of digital transformation in different countries around the world are given as examples.

Digital transformation plays a key role in modernizing public services, increasing service efficiency and reducing labor intensity, increasing service satisfaction and trust in governments.

One of the most important issues facing governments today is to implement digital transformation as soon as possible. States need to prioritize the mobilization of digital technologies to coordinate strategic goals (e.g. efficiency, inclusion, transparency, sustainability) across different levels of government and sectors, and to ensure policy coherence and long-term sustainability.

The main purpose of the article is to examine the experience of digital transformation in the leading countries of the world and their application to Azerbaijan.
