Problems in the social protection of the elderly people in Azerbaijan and the world experience

Summary

The recent state of demographic processes shows that along with the global decline in the number of births, the rapid decrease of the young population, the extension of the average human lifespan, in other words, the increase in the number of the elderly population is being observed.
From this point of view, the article examines the current situation regarding the social protection of the elderly, who are one of the vulnerable population groups in Azerbaijan, mainly the elderly living in nursing homes, and studies the experience of developed countries (United States of America, England, Japan, and others) in this field.
As a result of the research, at the end of the article, project proposals are given that will serve to improve the social security of the elderly in the prospective period.
