Although Azerbaijan's non-oil exports decreased by 5.3 percent in actual prices in 2020 compared to 2019 as a result of the impact of a new type of coronavirus pandemic, the backlog in this area was eliminated and a significant increase was achieved during the first 9 months of 2021. The analysis shows that in January-September 2021, exports in the non-oil sector amounted to 1 billion 809 million US dollars. Compared to the corresponding period of 2020, exports in the non-oil sector in the first 9 months of 2021 increased by 525 million US dollars or 40.9 percent.
In this article, the author analyzes exports in the non-oil sector in January-September 2021. Then it assesses the impact of the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic on non-oil exports and makes relevant proposals for diversification of exports in the post-pandemic period.
