The aim of the study is to investigate the dependence between the fertility rate and income, which is one of the most important demographic indicators in the country. A survey was conducted among married people in Azerbaijan by the author to analyze the impact of family income, the impact of the presence of any additional source of family income on the decision to give birth. SPSS package program was used in the analysis of the survey conducted on the Survey Monkey platform. The chi-square test was used to analyze the dependence between two categorical variables.
The qualitative-quantitative approach used by different researchers in fertility studies in the literature has not been addressed in any scientific research before in Azerbaijan. Although many studies have been conducted on the effect of population growth on economic development, examining the factors affecting the decision of families to have children at the micro level shows the novelty of the research. Specific regional and national demographic contexts and trends should be taken into account when defining countries' development strategies.
