Current state and development prospects of Turkish-Azerbaijani trade relations

Summary

The Republic of Turkey was one of the first countries to develop foreign trade relations after the Republic of Azerbaijan regained its independence in 1991. The developing trade relations between the two countries have also contributed to energy security since 2016, and the share of the Republic of Turkey in Azerbaijan's gas exports is growing. In addition, Turkey is not only the largest energy importer in Azerbaijan's foreign trade relations, but also has a high share in major non-oil exports. The only reason for Azerbaijan's high share in foreign trade between the two countries is energy. In addition, this indicator is a manifestation of Azerbaijan's low diversification from a commodity point of view.
