"Southern Gas Corridor": Azerbaijan's role in international energy security

Summary

"Southern Gas Corridor" is a tremendous international project led by Azerbaijan, which aims to facilitate the diversification of routes and sources of imported gas to Europe. This article is devoted to the analysis of the role of the Republic of Azerbaijan as a leading country in the South Caucasus in the context of energy security. This role in the sphere of energy cooperation of Azerbaijan promotes and stimulates the sustainable development of the country's national economy. After summarizing the development path of the Southern Gas Corridor, the article presents an analysis of the role of the European Union (EU) and Azerbaijan in the context of the Southern Gas Corridor. The newly built infrastructure within the framework of the SGC increases the strategic importance of Azerbaijan in Europe's energy supply. Azerbaijan's energy resources, as well as playing the role of a bridge between Asia and Europe, once again prove the relevance of the article.
